TACS is a nonprofit support organization that understands nonprofit capacity building needs. We serve organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest, providing training, consulting and resources to help strengthen your organization.

How It All Began

During the 1970s, well before "capacity building" was a part of our vocabulary, TACS co-founders Kay Sohl and Jean DeMaster found a common thread in a wave of new nonprofit organizations. Many founders and early volunteers were skilled in their service and advocacy missions. But very few enjoyed, or had expertise in, the Young Leadersprocess of incorporation, getting tax exempt status, setting up accounting systems, and raising money.

TACS was created to help these leaders build the systems and skills needed to run their organizations effectively - to keep the energy alive in emerging nonprofits so that they could focus on their missions.

Today we serve over 6000 nonprofit organizations each year throughout the Pacific Northwest providing a range of services that help you manage the "nuts & bolts" of running your nonprofit organization. We strive to help you sustain and grow your organization's ability to meet the needs of our communities.
