Alice Forbes
Alice Forbes, Operations Director, brings over 20 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations. Alice oversees all aspects of the TACS infrastructure, including finance, HR and administration. Since joining TACS in March 2008, Alice has also been available to selected consulting clients, including Construction Apprenticeship Workforce Solutions, the Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, and Passages Northwest.
Prior to TACS, Alice worked for several Portland-based consulting firms, helping nonprofit organizations and government agencies build organizational capacity, from program and exhibit development to strategic and business planning. Her clients included the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), National Science Foundation, Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation, Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, and many, many science centers and museums.
Before transitioning to consulting, Alice worked for numerous museums and science centers. Alice's first nonprofit job was at OMSI (the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) cashiering in the retail science store and performing science demonstrations. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Alice received an MA from the Cooperstown (NY) Graduate Program and a BA from Smith College.
