Event Description

• Develop concrete steps to become a multicultural leader
• Learn how to tap your visionary abilities
• Create a personal and organizational vision for multicultural functioning

This session of DLN focuses on the connection between visionary leadership and success in building Multicultural Capacity in nonprofit organizations. The concept of leadership itself is in transition from a control model to a partnership model. At the same time, our nonprofit organizations continue to see an increasingly diverse workforce and client base.

Rethinking leadership, organizational culture, and collaboration across differences, is critical to building multicultural capacity. We need to build organizations that are nimble, flexible and able to incorporate skills, principles and practices to effectively serve clients from a broad range of perspectives and organize a workforce with varying work styles and strengths.

These changes call for visionary leadership of which each of us has the capacity to create.

Network Description

Diversity Leaders Network is a gathering of peers where key diversity related topics are highlighted and colleagues have an opportunity to learn from each other. Nonprofit leaders gain a better understanding of the causes and effects of different perspectives, and inspire open-mindedness and learning about issues that have the potential to both unite and divide our community.
