This session, join us in exploring:

  • What draws business and professional leaders to board service
  • How to reach new leaders
  • Retention and engagement challenges

Business and professional leaders join nonprofit boards for many reasons, including passion for the mission of the nonprofit, being good corporate citizens, personal desire to give back to the community, opportunities for business contacts and new skills development.

Help your board to first assess its capacity, performance and skill needs, and then identify and involve business and professional candidates for board service who possess the qualities needed. Examine how differences between for-profit and nonprofit approaches can present challenges in expectations and tips for managing those differences. Develop strategies for engaging business and professional board members and creating rewarding experiences.

Join Cliff Jones to explore effective strategies to build strong business and professional leadership on your board.  Cliff has consulted with a wide range of nonprofit organizations, and has an extensive working knowledge of board recruitment, planning, management and development.
