Event Description

Even in a lean economy, companies continue to advertise. Starbucks announced the layoff of thousands of employees one week after launching its national "I'm In" sponsorship campaign with nonprofit HandsOn Network. This sponsorship coincided with the last presidential inauguration. The message: Visit participating locations January 21 - 25, pledge to donate five hours of service to your community, and receive a free tall brewed coffee.

Sponsorships with nonprofit organizations are powerful marketing tools for corporations. Sales are up because sponsorships outperform traditional advertising. However, to be successful in sponsorship sales, nonprofits need clear ethical standards, a thorough understanding of the benefits corporations really crave, and a way to deliver that information to marketing decision-makers.

This workshop is appropriate for any size organization and is not limited to special event sponsorships. Join Barbara to discuss top local companies and what they really desire from nonprofit partnerships. National sponsorships will also be explored.

This fast-paced, practical presentation will address:

  • Powerful Ideas for Increasing Sales in a Lean Economy
  • Sponsorship and Ethics - Drafting a Statement of Excellence
  • Building Connections in the Electronic Era
  • Motivating Decision - Makers with Effective Proposals (print & electronic)
  • Inspiring and Educating Your Board
  • Valuing Benefits and Pricing Packages Competitively
  • Excellent Case Studies that Drive Sales for the Sponsor
  • Sponsorship Terminology - Glossary of Latest Lingo

Barbara's insights into sponsorship programs are highlighted in a recent Sponsorship Q & A she had with TACS.
