Event Description

Tough economic times demand critical strategic decisions based on solid financial data, especially for human service organizations facing burgeoning need, shrinking funding, and diverse options with limited assessment time. Join Nanita McIlhattan and a panel of local human services leaders in a hands-on, pragmatic workshop for policy decision makers that will lead you through:

  • Creating permission to talk about the financial elephants you know are in the room
  • Setting the stage for negotiations that include saying 'no' to damaging alliances, non-core services, and funding sources
  • Establishing strategic business structures to guide key decisions and assess core services

Audience

This training is designed for CFOs/Fiscal Managers, Board of Directors, and Executive Directors of human services nonprofits, preferably attending together.

What Participants are Saying about this Training

"I do not normally rate trainings high: Nanita did an excellent job with a complex topic in a challenging climate/arena by using a real example and referring back to it throughout the day. Her use of challenging scenarios to address through a participatory process was very helpful. Prompting participants to take action, with the offer to follow up with her was terrific!"

"I am in the process of developing a strategic plan for our organization, so this workshop was very helpful. The “elephant in the room” look at finances was very enlightening and is information that I will be passing on to our board."
